Christmas Tree Disposal In Lansdale Area To Be Held In January
Towns throughout the Lansdale area will begin to pick up Christmas trees this month. Here's what to know.

LANSDALE, PA — Now that the holidays are over, Christmas tree collection will begin in Lansdale and municipalities throughout the area.
In Lansdale, Public Works crews will hold a one-day collection of trees on Saturday, Jan. 9. Trees should be placed at the curb by no later than 6 a.m. that day.
Residents can also drop off trees at the Public Works complex on Ninth Street and Movers Road.

In Montgomery Township, used Christmas trees can be recycled by dropping them off at William F. Maule Park at Windlestrae, located on 1147 Kenas Road.
In Hatfield Township, drop trees at the designated area at Hatfield Community Park and Pool through the end of January.

Whether you're having your tree picked up or if you're dropping it off, it will only be accepted if all lights, wires, or decorations have been removed. Do not put it in a plastic bag or wrap it in any way.
In the meantime, the time between Christmas and New Years is when most Christmas tree fires happen, according to the National Fire Protection Association. The risk remains high after the New Year as trees dry out. Be sure to water your tree to prevent it from drying out and becoming fire-prone.
