Construction Could Cause Delays On Sumneytown Pike
Officials are warning about increased traffic in the area over the next two weeks. Drivers should plan for delays

UPPER SALFORD, PA — Construction could lead to backups on Sumneytown Pike over the next two weeks, PennDOT announced.
Traffic will be periodically stopped for 15 minutes on the road from Wednesday, Dec. 4 through Friday, Dec. 13.
Construction work to replace a bridge over the East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on those days.

The area between Long Mill Road and Shady Lane will be impacted.
These stoppages are in addition to the ongoing single lane traffic pattern that's in place on this portion of the road through the spring of 2020, PennDOT said.

Two other bridges on the road, over Unami Creek and Ridge Valley Creek, both of which have been closed since May, are expected to open before the end of 2019.
