LANSDALE, PA — This year's Easter might look a little different, but Fairmount Fire Company is making sure residents still get a taste of the Easter Bunny.

The Easter Bunny will ride on a Fairmount Fire Company truck around the borough on Saturday, April 11.

Fairmount has partnered on this project with North Montco Technical Career Center, which has provided the use of their Easter Bunny suit at no cost.

In addition, one of their employees, Chris Maiden, has volunteered to play the role of the bunny.

The Bunny will depart the Lansdale Police station, along with a police department cruiser, at 11 a.m. Their goal is to pass by every house in the borough, though they will have to bypass a few dead-end streets.

They'll be on the road for an estimated six hours.

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Easter Bunny will not be stopping for photos or throwing out candy. And as usual, all residents who come out to see the Bunny are asked to keep at least six feet away from their neighbors.

Similar events are being planned nearby in Ambler, Hatfield, and Upper Gwynedd.

In Ambler, the Wissahickon Fire Company will tour the area with their own Bunny at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, starting on Locust Street.

In Hatfield, the Colmar and Hatfield fire companies will escort their Bunny around the area from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

And the Upper Gwynedd Fire Department aims to cover most of the township from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday. They will pass along the following roads: Garfield Ave, Valley Forge Road, Whites Road, Broad Street, Morris Road, West Point Pike and Church Road, Hancock Road, North Wales Road and Beaver Stand, and Sumneytown Pike.
