Einstein The Pennsylvania Snow Camel Inspired A Song

The legend of the beloved Pennsylvania Snow Camel has been further immortalized in song form.

It's not often that a legend is born before your eyes, but a camel hoofing it through the snow on the side of the road during the heart of an early season, improbably powerful Pennsylvania snowstorm has to qualify.

The story of Einstein rapidly grew to mythic proportions in the weeks to follow. Einstein made celebrity appearances around the region. He was universally praised as a fittingly bizarre hero for a bizarre storm. There were comparisons to Gritty. T-shirts were made, and tributes came in from across the country. There was a movement to change the Pennsylvania state mammal.

Now, the beloved Einstein has been immortalized in song.

Lehigh County-based band Smoke and Mirrors has released a new single dedicated to Einstein.

Trying to get to their families on time
Traffic looked like it would never end
That's when we saw our holiday friend
Oh, Einstein, the snow camel
He's a very, very special mammal
He'll fill your heart, with wonder and awe
Bring out the innner child in us all

The fantastic ditty is about four minutes long. You can watch the upbeat music video, set to a slideshow of images of Einstein on his various adventures, above.
