Family Accused of $20 Million Fraud Scheme Scheduled for Court
Risoldi Family of Buckingham accused of fraudulent claims in 2013 fire.

A prominent Bucks County family accused of being involved in a $20 million insurance fraud scheme is scheduled to appear in a Doylestown courtroom Monday for a preliminary hearing.
Claire Risoldi, 67, daughter Carla Risoldi, 48, son Carl Risoldi, 43, and his wife, Sheila Risoldi, are accused of filing fraudulent claims with insure AIG. The family members – who all from Buckingham, except Sheila, who is from Solebury – allegedly made false claims after a fire at the family’s Stoney Hill Road mansion.
The fire occurred in October 2013 and it reportedly was the third blaze since June 2009. The matriarch of the family is alleged to have falsely accused volunteer firefighters of stealing millions of dollars’ worth of jewelry.

The preliminary hearing is to determine if there is substantial evidence to move forward with a trial.
Claire’s husband, Thomas French was also charged in the alleged scheme, but committed suicide in February, according to publish reports.
