'Farmers To Families': Montco Event Offers Residents Free Food

The Montgomery County Farm Bureau is working with a local farm to provide boxes of free meat, dairy, and produce for local families.

SALFORD, PA — The Montgomery County Farm Bureau is working with a local farm to provide free food for local families.

The drive-thru pickup event will be held Sunday, Oct. 25 at the Tylersport Fire Company, located at 125 Ridge Road in Tylersport.

Each family that arrives at the event can receive one free box weighing about 31 pounds, organizers said. The box contains produce, meat, and dairy.

"With the COVID-19 pandemic, it is essential to ensure our community has access to fresh, wholesome food," State Rep. Steve Malagari said in a statement.

The event will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

It's organized by the Farm Bureau, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the Seashore Fruit and Produce Company.

Attendees should remain in their vehicle at all times. Volunteers will load the box into your vehicle.
