Final Wish For Late 2012 Souderton HS Grad, 26: Perth, Australia

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — The family of a local man who died suddenly this month is working with the community to make his final dream come true: moving to Perth, Australia.

Tyler Andrew Ferko, 26, a Limerick native and 2012 graduate Souderton Area High School, died on Nov. 18.

Tyler loved the city of Perth, Australia, according to a GoFundMe that has been launched to help with funeral expenses and the Australia trip.

"Tyler's last wish was to move to Australia and be free," Katrin DeGlas, the fundraiser's organizer, wrote. "The family would like to honor his last request by scattering his ashes in Perth, Australia. Perth, his dream destination, is a beautiful city with the perfect combination of small city living near the water, surrounded by protected forests."

As of Friday, a total of $1,205 had been raised from 20 donors, out of a goal of $2,235 to make the dream a reality.

Tyler was a six-year veteran of the Army National Guard, achieving the rank of Specialist. He was also a member of VFW Trappe Post 7155, and the fire police at Limerick Fire Company, according to his obituary.
