Here's a look at how to get rid of your Christmas tree in the Lansdale area. One thing to note: whether you're recycling your tree or leaving it to be picked up by the municipality, be sure to remove all ornaments and tinsel.
In the meantime, the time between Christmas and New Years is when most Christmas tree fires happen, according to the National Fire Protection Association. The risk remains high after the New Year. Be sure to water your tree to prevent it from drying out and becoming fire-prone.

Public works crews will collect trees on Saturday, Jan. 12.

Trees should be placed on curbs by 6 a.m.
Residents can also drop trees off at the Public Works complex at Ninth Street and Moyers Road.
Upper Gwynedd
The township will accept trees for recycling through the end of January.
Follow arrows on the Parkside Place driveway to the paved pool parking lot for tree drop-off at 1 Parkside Place in North Wales.
