Lansdale Author Gets Kirkus Review

Lansdale author Steven Donahue received a Kirkus Review of his novel Amy the Astronaut and the Secret Soldiers.

Kirkus describes the Young-Adult Sci-Fi story as “An astronaut tale with a recklessly brave, appealing hero.”

The second entry in the Amy the Astronaut series finds teen rocketeer Amy Sutter joining Yale and Madison aboard the Liberty Bell on a mission of mercy to a planet devastated by a natural disaster. The relief mission takes a turn for the worse when the crew discovers a plot that could destroy the Union, and they face off against new enemies that threaten their survival.

The review also says “Donahue draws a vivid picture of his irrepressible hero, who rises to every challenge—whether a space battle or a laser-pistol firefight. The plot offers exciting scenes of danger, battle, and hairbreadth escapes, with a chilling villain.”
