Lansdale Bar Shuts Down After Employee Tests Positive For COVID

All staff will be tested and the restaurant closed and cleaned out of an abundance of caution, owners said.

LANSDALE, PA — A Lansdale bar has shut down after an employee tested positive for coronavirus, they announced on Wednesday.

Lansdale Tavern, a West Main Street establishment with a large food menu for lunch, dinner, and late night, will be closed at least through Thursday.

The employee who tested positive has not worked since Saturday and had limited interaction with patrons, the Tavern said.

"We have tried our best to err on the side of caution since the beginning of this pandemic, especially when it concerns our staff and guests," owners announced in their Wednesday statement. "Now is no different."

The facility will undergo a deep clean and the entire staff will be tested. The Tavern will reopen on Friday "if all goes well," they said.

The positive comes as the restaurant industry slowly comes back to life to following lengthy restrictions amid the pandemic. Montgomery County, along with much of the region, is undergoing a "fourth wave" of the virus that has seen an increase in cases in recent weeks despite the vaccination rate rapidly climbing.
