Lansdale Man, 96, HS Track Captain, WW II Vet, Business Owner
Edward Vernon Walls Sr., 96, was a runner, boxer, Navy vet in World War ii, and local business owner.

LANSDALE, PA — Edward Vernon Walls, Sr., passed peacefully at the age of 96, on May 6, 2019 at Dock Woods Community in Lansdale, PA. Ed was born February 8, 1923 to Frank and Helen Walls. He graduated from Lansdale High School where he was captain on the cross country and track teams. He was also a member of the boxing team. After graduation he enlisted in the Navy in 1942 where he was an Electrician's Mate 3/C on a subchaser in WWII. Discharged on November 21, 1945.
He married the love of his life, Evelyn A. Schuster on November 19, 1944, who predeceased him January 12, 1999. They raised 4 children; Patricia, Donna, Richard and Edward Jr. who along with his wife Laura also predeceased him.

Employed by PECO for over 30 years he retired early to continue his in-home business, Lansdale Camping Center. Retired again in 1995. Many remember Ed and Evie sending families off on fun vacations with their EZ campers.
As a dedicated vet Ed was active in the American Legion, Post 206, Lansdale and North Penn Elks Lodge 1979. He was a lifetime member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lansdale.

He is survived by daughters; Patricia & partner Tom Lightner, Donna & husband Richard, son Richard & wife Doris. Was Blessed with grandchildren; Leif Olson & wife Brenda, Kevin Poling, and Mindy Walls. Great-grandchildren Harmony and Wylie Olson.
