Lansdale to Hire Borough Photographer This Week

Lansdale Communication Commission chairman announced 15 submissions were received for professional photography services for the borough website and literature. A decision will be made in time for Saturday's Mardi Gras Parade.

Lansdale Borough Communication Commission Chairman Denton Burnell announced Monday that the commission is close to offering a one-year contract to a professional photographer to capture all of Lansdale's wards, its people and events in every season to be used on the upcoming new website and in borough literature.
A decision will be made before Saturday, which is also the date of the Mardi Gras Parade, the opening of the Santa House and the opening of the Lansdale Business Association Holiday Tree Event.
Lansdale had sought Requests for Proposals from photographers interested in the contract. The photographer must capture 12 portrait, event and scenery shots per month.
Burnell said Monday that 15 submissions were received and were under review. Pricing feedback is still needed before a decision can be made, he said.
He was confident that a local photographer would be awarded the contract.
"All submissions were excellent," Burnell said. "There were a lot of local folks. I can say, with some confidence, we are likely to have someone from the area chosen for that."
