Lansdale's White's Road Park Wins $90K Grant For Improvements
The project was one of 23 across the county winning some $2.5 million to support sustainability and interconnectivity.
LANSDALE, PA — A major overhaul of the Whites Road Park facilities is among 23 initiatives across Montgomery County that was awarded sizable grants this week to improve sustainability and infrastructure.
The project received $90,000 through the 2021 iteration of the Montco 2040 Implementation Grants. The park is currently in the midst of remediation and redevelopment.
"The park is a significant borough amenity that also serves other surrounding municipalities," officials said in announcing the grant. "The park has already undergone extensive improvements over the last few years in the form of streambank restoration. This particular phase of the ongoing project includes construction of a new pavilion, ADA-accessible pathways, and the construction of a new 'waterless' restroom."

“When we started the Montco 2040 Implementation Grant Program, I was excited to see what kind of projects would come out of the program and how municipalities would take up the county’s offer to help implement the comprehensive plan at the local level," Montgomery County Commissioner Val Arkoosh said in a statement. "Now at year six, we have seen a number of fantastic projects funded through this initiative."
A total of 95 grants and $10.2 million in funding has been disbursed across 46 municipalities since the program's launch in 2016.
