Last Chance Ranch Animal Rescue Celebrates 20 Years
Quakertown-based Animal Rescue Announces Date for Sixth Annual Tails and Ties Fundraising Gala
Last Chance Ranch Animal Rescue (LCR) is celebrating their twentieth anniversary of rescuing animals in need with a series of events throughout 2019. Originally founded as an equine rescue in 1999, the Quakertown-based organization has gone on to rescue over 10,000 animals, from horses to hamsters.
In 2011, LCR began partnering with the Mounted Patrol Units of the Philadelphia and Baltimore Police Departments. To date LCR has rehabilitated more than a dozen horses to serve, with three horses currently placed with the Philadelphia department and two horses with Baltimore. Following the horses’ retirement from police service, they are placed in forever homes through LCR’s placement program. The goal for 2019 is to acquire more horses to place in these police departments, and to create partnership with additional police forces using mounted units.
“The dedicated team of professionals at Last Chance Ranch always have the rescue animal’s best interest at heart which, along with their top-notch facility, and volunteer program, creates an unparalleled animal rescue shelter and home for abandoned animals,” said Laurie Bianco, a volunteer since 2006.
Dana Wuerstle, a volunteer and animal foster since 2007, echoes the sentiment. “Last Chance Ranch saves lives! They don't just take in cute and fluffy puppies. Last Chance Ranch rescues old, broken, tired, and needy animals as well. It is a great rescue to be a part of.”
The main event for 2019 is the sixth annual Tails and Ties Rescue Gala, taking place 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the Homewood Suites by Hilton, 3350 Center Valley Parkway, Center Valley, Pennsylvania. All are welcome to attend this celebratory fundraiser, with proceeds benefitting the ongoing efforts of LCR. Sponsorship and auction donation opportunities are available.
