PENNSYLVANIA — A law firm representing the Trump campaign in an election lawsuit in Pennsylvania withdrew from the case late Thursday, just days after the case was originally brought forth in federal district court.

The Cleveland, Ohio-based firm Porter Wright Morris and Arthur did not elaborate on specifically why they'd chosen to withdraw, although a recent New York Times report cites growing discomfort within the firm over challenging election results.

"Plaintiffs will be best served if Porter Wright withdraws, and current co-counsel and such other counsel as Plaintiffs may choose to engage represent Plaintiffs in this case,” the firm notes in court documents filed Thursday.

>>Trump Team Files Lawsuit To Block PA Election Results

The suit filed Monday, which aims to stop the Pennsylvania Department of State from certifying the final election results, is one of numerous cases brought forth by the Trump campaign around the country seeking to cast doubt on the validity of the 2020 election.

No hearing date has yet been scheduled for the case. Other lawyers attached to the case will take over representation of the Trump campaign.

The 85-page filing asserts, without evidence, that mail-in balloting was not held to the same security standards as in-person voting, and that the state broke the law in other Election Day proceedings. Details here.

The lawsuit makes mention of Democrat-run counties as being the culprit for the bulk of these issues, and the suit is filed against the board of elections in seven places: Philadelphia, Montgomery, Allegheny, Chester, Centre, Delaware and Northampton counties. Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar is also named.
