Local Love Stories: High School Sweethearts

In honor of Valentine’s Day, we asked Patch readers to share their love stories. It all started at North Penn High School for these two lovebirds.

Whether you’re a fan of Valentine’s Day or the thought of red and pink decorations makes you want to puke, we’ve got a hunch everyone could use some happy news this month. And what’s happier than a love story?

We asked Patch readers on Facebook to share their local love stories — how they met, where it all went down, and what’s kept them together. Here’s the story of Kelly and "her friend John," who had no idea what was in store for them.

Met "my friend John" (that's how I introduced him to everyone for nine months since we were just friends first!) in our junior year at North Penn High School in 1993. We dated for 3 years, got married at 19 years old and had our first child at age 20.

We started our own landscaping business at age 22, bought a new house and had our second child at 23! Both of us graduated college and I graduated with my masters degree all while working and raising our family!

Our daughter graduated from North Penn High School in 2014 and will be graduating from Gwynedd Mercy University next spring. Our son is a senior at North Penn High School and will graduate this June 2017. We just celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary last month and are more in love now than we have ever been!
