Montco Frees Up $10M For Third Round Of Small Business Support
The application period opens Thursday morning and closes at noon on Friday.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — The Montgomery County Board of Commissioners has made another $10 million available to eligible small businesses in round three of its MontcoStrong Small Business Grant Program.
In a release Tuesday, the county said the application period for round three will run from approximately 10 a.m. Thursday through noon on Friday.
To qualify, businesses must meet a set of criteria set forth by commissioners and the Redevelopment Authority of Montgomery County. Businesses must:

- Be a for-profit business that opened on or before March 23
- Have experienced a disruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic
- Have reported gross revenue of no more than $15 million on its last federal tax return
- Have employed no more than 50 full and part-time workers as of July 1
- Additional eligibility information can be found online
Applicants can use the funds to cover the following expenses:
- Accounts payable, utilities, vendors, suppliers and capital expenses that must be paid off between June 1 and Oct. 31
- Rent or mortgage payments paid or to be paid between June 1 and Oct. 31
- Debt service to loans, equipment leases and credit cards to be paid between June 1 and OCt. 31 (debts can't exceed more than 25 percent of total grant award)
- Grant recipients are also encouraged to use funds to purchase protective equipment for employees and other items that could help improve health and safety
In a news conference Wednesday, Montgomery County Commissioner Ken Lawrence said businesses that were awarded grants in Round One or Two of the MontcoStrong program cannot apply for Round Three.

Businesses that were denied grants in the first two rounds, however, must reapply to be considered for a Round Three grant.
Grant recipients will be announced via email after the application period ends.
