More Severe Weather Coming To PA After Tornado Damage
Another round of wacky weather could be in store for commuters. Here's when to expect more heavy rain, thunder, and potentially a tornado.
More damaging storms are expected to hit Pennsylvania Wednesday after a powerful weather system left a path of desruction in some areas of the state.
A hazardous weather outlook was issused across southeastern Pennsylvania and much of the state, with forecasters saying there is a chance of strong to severe thunderstorms developing late Wednesday afternoon and into the evening.
The main threat will be damaging winds and large hail. However, an isolated tornado is possible. There is also a flash flood watch in effect from 4 p.m. through later in the evening.

A suspected tornado touched down in near the border of Berks and Chester counties on Tuesday evening, leaving a trail of destruction in its path.
Debris was scattered in the roadway, roofs were damaged, tree limbs smashed into homes, sheds were destroyed, and several people were displaced from their homes due to damage, officials said.
The Chester County Rescue Task Force said they inspected 50 structures in the area where the tornado touched down.
Hail ranging in size from half of a penny to a golf ball was reported around the area.
Here is what else could happen on Wednesday:
- 1-2 inches of rain (locally up to 3 inches possible), which may result in flash flooding especially in urban areas.
- Flooding of small creeks and streams is also possible in the areas of heaviest rainfall.
- Greatest threat is across eastern PA and northern New Jersey, but may be possible in other areas across the region.
- Some of thunderstorms could be severe, with damaging winds as the primary hazard. Large hail and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

- Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before midnight. Some storms could be severe, with large hail, damaging winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. West wind 3 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Thursday:A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 86. West wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Thursday night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 2am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. West wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Friday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8am. Sunny, with a high near 81. North wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
