North Penn Girls Win Swimming And Diving State Championship
It's the second consecutive state championship for North Penn.

LANSDALE, PA — The North Penn girls swimming and diving team won another PIAA 3A state championship this past weekend, their second in a row.
The diving team was led by Paige Burrell, who earned first place overall. She was followed by an overwhelming display of dominance from North Penn, with junior Meghan Wenzel earning second, senior Kianna Yancey placing third, and junior Madalyn Freece in fourth.
On the swimming side of things, junior Caroline Dunigan placed fifth in the 100 freestyle and second in the 50 freestyle, sophomore Maddie Fritz was 15th in the 100 breaststroke, sophomore Charlotte Thamm was 15th in the 100 butterfly, and senior Claudia Thamm placed fourth in the 200 IM and second in the 100 butterfly.

But it was the relay events where North Penn earned their most decisive points, including three second place finishes in the 400 relay (Claudia Thamm, Nicole Chiappa, Parker Schulz), 200 freestyle relay (Dunigan, Schulz, Chiappa, Kaelan Daly), and 200 medley relay (Daly, Julia Davis, Claudia Thamm, Dunigan).
North Penn's team score of 243 points easily outstripped second place Upper Dublin, who earned 166.

On the boys side, the team placed a competitive second overall, led by a 200 IM victory from junior Sean Faikish.
