North Penn Sets Attendance Policy For Eagles Super Bowl Parade

North Penn officials addressed Thursday's attendance policy in advance of the Eagles' Super Bowl parade.

LANSDALE, PA — Kids in the North Penn School District are lucky: they have an administration that understands the need of Eagles fans to attend the big parade Thursday.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the school district said that while North Penn will remain open, students will be granted an excused absence if they decide to attend the parade.

"Families who decide to take their children to the Eagles parade will be granted an excused absence with a note from the parents," the district's statement read. "While we hope to see all of our children in school on Thursday, if parents do decide to take the trip into Philadelphia we hope it will be a safe and enjoyable day for all."

Nearby districts like Philadelphia, Collingswood (New Jersey), and Upper Darby will be closed Thursday for the parade, while some, like Council Rock, are allowing students to leave early with a note. Others, meanwhile, have chosen to neither close nor offer students excused absences.
