Open House To Address Old Skippack Road Roundabout Project

UPPER SALFORD, PA — An upcoming open house will update the public on the planned roundabout project on Old Skippack Road at Shelly Road in Upper Salford.

The open house will take place on Wednesday on May 29 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 1441 1441 Salford Station Road in Salford.

PennDOT officials are hopeful the roundabout will reduce crashes and vehicle speeds while also addressing congestion in the Old Skippack area, near Schwenksville Road/Shelly Road.

The meeting will include various displays for residents to browse, and PennDOT's design team will be on hand to discuss the project.

In addition, existing utilities will be relocated to make way for the roundabout, and new drainage facilities will be added, PennDOT said.

Bids on construction will open in fall 2020. It will be fully federally funded.
