Pennbrook Middle School Teacher Makes Quarterfinalist in Music Educator Award
The GRAMMY Foundation and The Recording Academy presents The Music Educator Award; there were initially more than 30,000 nominations from across the nation.

Peter Neu, Pennbrook Middle School music teacher and director of the school’s Jazz Ensemble, has been recognized as a quarterfinalist from the national Music Educator Award.
The GRAMMY Foundation and The Recording Academy presents the award, which was created in recognition of current kindergarten to college-level music educators in both public and private schools. According to a press release about the award, more than 30,000 initial nominations were submitted from all 50 states with 217 music teachers advancing as a quarterfinalist.The music educators could be nominated by their school community or general community, and could also nominate themselves. The award recognizes the educator’s remarkable impact on students’ lives.
According to the release, one recipient will be selected from 10 finalists each year. The nine finalists will receive a $1,000 honorarium, and the winner will be flown to Los Angeles to accept the award, attend the GRAMMY Awards ceremony and receive a $10,000 honorarium. Schools of all 10 finalists will receive matching grants, made possible through the GRAMMY Foundation’s Education Champions Converse, Ford Motor Company Fund, General Mills Box Tops For Education and Journeys.
