Philly-Bound Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Woman Goes into Labor
Shaniqua Cherry, 38 weeks pregnant with her fourth child, went into labor on a flight from Philadelphia to Atlanta Tuesday.

A flight from Philadelphia to Atlanta had to make an emergency landing due to an unexpected delivery Tuesday.
Shaniqua Cherry went into labor on the plane, causing the American Airlines flight to make an emergency landing at Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro, N.C., WFMY News 2 reports.
The baby, a girl named Nyla Lulu, was born at 1:35 p.m. in an ambulance on the way to Women’s Hospital in Greensboro, Fox 8 reported.

The plane, which had 90 passengers and five crew members, resumed its flight shortly after dropping Cherry off to give birth, ABC News said.
Fox 8 reported Cherry, who had two weeks until her due date, did not think she would go into labor on the flight and was surprised when her water broke 30 minutes into the trip.

It is Cherry’s fourth child, WFMY News 2 said.
