President Trump will campaign in Pennsylvania on Thursday, hours before Joe Biden formally accepts the Democratic nomination.

PENNSYLVANIA — President Trump will speak in Pennsylvania Thursday as he attempts to galvanize support in a key swing state of his 2020 campaign. The speech will come just hours before Joe Biden formally accepts the Democratic nomination for president.
The president will deliver remarks at the Mariotti Products Building in Old Forge, which is just outside of Biden's hometown of Scranton. The event will take place at 2:30 p.m.
According to the Trump campaign, his speech will address "a half century of Joe Biden failing America." It will be his first visit to the state since May, when he spoke at an Allentown medical equipment company and urged Gov. Wolf to reopen parts of the economy.

Pennsylvania has long been ticketed as a possible bellwether for the 2020 election, with a strong contingent of working class voters that helped swing the 2016 election in Trump's favor.
Biden has held a consistent lead over Trump in polls in Pennsylvania since before he announced his campaign. As of Wednesday, he leads Trump by 6.4 points, 49.7 to 43.3, according to an aggregate of recent polls from RealClearPolitics. As Trump supporters note, it is only slightly larger than the poll lead which Hillary Clinton enjoyed in the state in the run-up to the 2016 election.

Trump's appearance comes in the midst of recent controversies over mail-in balloting in Pennsylvania. The state announced Tuesday they're filing a lawsuit to prevent Postmaster General Louis DeJoy from making operational changes which would reduce the Postal Service's ability to deliver mail in a timely fashion. DeJoy announced almost simultaneously that all operational changes would be suspended until after the election "to avoid even the appearance of any impact on election mail."
Rallies are scheduled in northeastern Pennsylvania Thursday, with the Republican Party of Luzerne County organizing supporters near 930 Moosic Road beginning at noon.
The speech will be replayed online at 3 p.m. Thursday, the Trump campaign said. The replay requires registration and is available online here.
The Trump campaign has not released any details on in-person ticketing for the event. Pennsylvania's coronavirus health guidelines prohibit indoor gatherings larger than 25 people.
