Services Set For Beloved Montgomery County Fireman, EMT
Ronald Long, 48, who passed away in March, will be remembered at a graveside service next month.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Funeral services have been set to lay to rest a widely known and loved Montgomery County firefighter and emergency medical technician.
Ronald Long, 48, a native of Upper Providence, passed away back on March 5.

A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17 at Trinity Reformed Church Cemetery. It's located on 532 E. Main Street in Collegeville.
Ron worked for both Lower Providence EMS-Medic 322 and, since 2006, VMSC of Lansdale. He was the former chief of Trappe Fire Company, starting as a junior firefighter years ago and working his way up.

Emergency personnel recalled everything from his sense of humor, his love of the Phillies, and his unyielding public service.
Masks and social distancing are encouraged at the graveside service, which was delayed due to the pandemic.
Ron was survived by his son, Christopher M. Rainey-Long, his sister Dawn, and his nephews Samuel L. Thomas and James R. Thomas.
