Suburban blight in our neighborhood. When you drive down the 309 you come across Chuck E. Cheese, a little bit further down on your left is Babies R Us, keep on going up in Airport Square the Sports Authority and Toys R Us. On the other side of the 309 is a Bertucci’s pizzeria passed that you have the old Bennigan’s just past five points. Over in Lansdale you have the abandoned Acme.
Now I read a story that they want to build a pad site at the Home Depot in Water Tower Square and build a restaurant called Millers Ale House.
I think that there should be an ordinance that they try to fill all the vacant buildings first before they start building new pad sites. Plus right across the street from Water Tower Square Shopping Center is The Bull Tavern which has been a family run business for over 50 years.
This family has been paying taxes for 50 years in our area and are hard-working, plus I don’t like big box restaurants.
With brick-and-mortar locations closing across the country I think we need to support the little guy whenever possible, not big chain restaurants or stores!
