Towamencin's Free Summer Concert Series: 2019 Schedule

TOWAMENCIN, PA — Towamecin's free summer concert series kicks off this week at Fischer's Park.

Four events will take place on Thursdays this summer in the park, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

July 11 - Don't Call Me Francis Band

Here's what organizers have to say about the band:

"The Don’t Call Me Francis Band is a ten member, multi-instrumental ensemble, capable of performing every style of music, both past and present. “DCMF” is one of the most requested bands in the Philadelphia tri-state area and beyond. “DCMF” is more than just a cover band. With over 25 years of experience in the industry and a heavy portion of stage showmanship, their sole purpose is to make the audience get out of their seats and dance, along to songs that have dominated the charts for years. The band generates this amazing and explosive energy to the audience from the beginning of the night to the very end. The band is composed of multi-talented musicians including long standing members Mary Harris, Billy Garrett and Randy Chick. Now featuring, the late Francis Orsini’s daughter, Adriana Orsini. Several individuals in the band are front people, which has made them a staple in the music industry."

July 18 - The Large Flowerheads

According to the band: "The Large Flowerheads bring to life the musical sights & sounds of the groovy '60s. The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Sonny & Cher, Mamas & The Papas, Tom Jones, The Monkees, Jefferson Airplane and so many more."

July 25 - The Class of '84

Attendees are welcome to dress up in 80s attire.

"The Class of 84 has played a wide range of events and venues including clubs, birthday parties, an 80s themed night at a Phillies game, opening for Biz Markie at the TLA in Philly, weddings, wedding after parties, class reunions, MusikFest, and numerous other outdoor festival/events."

Aug. 1 - Gone to the Dog

"Great Friends Making Great Music. Thirty Years and Counting! Based out of Philadelphia, PA, Gone to the Dogs joyfully performs their incredibly diverse repertoire of Folk Rock, Bluegrass, Irish, Jazz, Country, and original music."

Food sales from Dizdogs will be available beginning at 6 p.m. each night.

Fischer's Park is located at 2225 Bustard Road.
