Two New, Saturday Mass Vaccine Clinics Opening In Montco
Despite being hit hard by the Johnson & Johnson pause this week, Montgomery County has been able to move forward with two new clinics.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Despite being hit hard by the Johnson & Johnson pause this week, Montgomery County has been able to move forward with two new clinics.
The Saturday-only clinics will open up at locations in Pottstown and Spring House on April 17.
Both sites will be distributing first doses of the Pfizer vaccine. The county still has thousands of Pfizer doses in hand, so it's been able to continue to operate its clinics as health experts evaluate the safety of the single dose J&J vaccine.

In Pottstown, the clinic will be held at Bethel Community Church on 575 Keim Street. In Spring House, it's located at Bethlehem Baptist Church on 712 Penllyn Pike.
The Pottstown clinic will be open every Saturday into the future; the Spring House clinic will be open on April 17, and then every Saturday in May.

"We have taken inventory of all our remaining first doses of Pfizer and have updated our clinics schedule accordingly to only distribute Pfizer through next Tuesday, April 20," Montgomery County Commissioner Val Arkoosh said in a statement.
Along with these Saturday clinics, the county will continue to operate five other clinics through at least Tuesday of next week. This includes Norristown High School, Willow Grove, Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansdale, and Bethel Church in Pottstown.
Future dates will be dependent on state shipments of vaccine, specifics of which are shrouded in uncertainty due to the J&J issue. It's expected, however, that the county will receive at least it's baseline of 5,860 Pfizer doses.
Two more clinics had been scheduled to open on Friday, April 16 in King of Prussia and Norristown, but that opening is now delayed until at least next week.
