A Montgomery County man is behind bars after his attack on his girlfriend left her hospitalized, police said.

UPPER GWYNEDD, PA —A Montgomery County man is behind bars after his attack on his girlfriend left her hospitalized, police said.
Jean Roody Evans-Saintmarc, 43, faces numerous charges in connection with the incident.
It occurred on March 27 at around 6:30 p.m. inside the victim's Upper Gwynedd Township home.

Evans-Saintmarc came over to the woman's house after they had been arguing on the phone, according to police.
The victim told authorities that she was sitting on the bottom step of her staircase when she told Evans-Saintmarc that she was not interested in continuing the conversation.

That's when Evans-Saintmarc lost his temper, punching her in the side of the face and knocking her over, police said.
He then continued to attack her by stomping on her face, before running out of the house and driving away, according to authorities.
The woman was treated for injuries at Lansdale Hospital.
Following an investigation, Evans-Saintmarc was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and disorderly conduct. He was taken into custody on Tuesday.
A preliminary hearing is set for April 15.
