8-Vehicle Accident Shuts Down WB U.S. 422 On Saturday

An 8-vehicle snarl closed down westbound Rt. 422 Saturday afternoon, leaving 2 with minor injuries.

ROYERSFORD, PA — An eight-vehicle accident on westbound U.S. 422 crippled travel Saturday afternoon and left two travelers with minor injuries.

Initial reports of up to 10 vehicles and unknown injuries sent EMS units to the scene from Royersford and Limerick fire departments. Trappe and Glibertsville EMS were also called in.

The first emergency units who arrived immediately shut down the roadway and began evaluating how many ambulances might be needed, Royersford Fire Department reported.

Trappe and Gilbertsville EMS were staged at the Wawa on S. Lewis Road awaiting orders if needed.

The messy incident resulted in two minor injuries, both transported to local facilities for care, officials said.

No determination of the cause of the accident has been released.
