Handing Over the Reins

There are some changes coming to Limerick-Royersford-Spring City Patch as a new editor takes over this week.

Dear Patch readers,

Today marks a change in this site's editor, as I've been picked for a new position within Patch. My fellow local editor, Brittany Tressler, who you may know from Perkiomen Valley Patch, will be taking over as of today.

The last eight months as the editor of Limerick-Royersford-Spring City Patch has been a great experience for me. Patch readers welcomed me with open arms and I've really enjoyed sharing our local news with you. I've appreciated the opportunity to become more involved in our community.

I still work for Patch, and still live in the area, so you may still see me at events or meetings or occasionally breaking news. I'm just handing over the day-to-day editorial responsibilities.

Thank you for your support of me and of this site over the last eight months. Please welcome Brittany to the Spring-Ford area and keep reading Patch!

Hi Readers,

I am very much looking forward to covering the Limerick-Royersford-Spring City area, in addition to Perk Valley, which I have been covering for about a year.

I learned a lot about your community over the past ten days as I covered the Julianne Siller slaying, from the initial reports on the morning of May 25 to covering her vigil in Skippack and her funeral in Royersford. I was amazed at how the community, particularly Spring-Ford students, dealt with the tremendous loss with such grace.

As for my background, I grew up in Souderton and got my journalism degree from the University of Maryland, but came right back to Montgomery County to be with my family and friends and work for a local state representative, Mike Vereb.

I worked in Montgomery County politics for a few years before making the move to Patch, and I have loved every second of working with this company - I look forward to helping to provide you with local news.

Please never hesistate to contact me at brittany.tressler@patch.com or 484-684-4590 with any story ideas, questions or concerns.

I look forward to meeting you!

Brittany Tressler
