Heritage Field Opens Doors to the Community
The local airport welcomed visitors for its annual Community Day.
Heritage Field had quite a few visitors on Saturday for its annual Community Day. Pilots showed off their planes and took people for flights, a local musician provided tunes and several airport clubs provided food and held a raffle.Â
One of the more popular attractions was Limerick Township's K-9 team, Officer Kevin McGuigan and K-9 Flynn. Kids crowded around waiting for an opportunity to pet the shepherd as he sat by McGuigan's side.Â
Equally popular was the local medevac helicopter that is stationed at Heritage Field. MidAtlantic Medevac's crew, Captain Boyd Curry and flight nurses Jean Hayburn and Scott Coady helped people in and out of the chopper and talked about their jobs with many visitors.Â
