Lanes Closing on U.S. 422 In Limerick Twp., Troutman Road
Road and bridge repair will slow travel starting next week, as PennDOT improves U.S. 422 structures.
LIMERICK TOWNSHIP, PA — Pavement repair work will close westbound lanes on U.S. 422 next week. A 5-mile stretch between the Royersford-Trappe and Sanatoga interchages in Limerick and Lower Pottsgrove townships in Montgomery County will be reduced to single lane travel. The patching and construction project begins July 19, PennDOT said.
Travel will also be restricted on Troutman Road, under U.S. 422, in Upper Pottsgrove Township. Bridge reconstruction between Ashenfelter Road and Arcola Road will reduce travel to a single lane with flagging on Monday, July 20, through Friday, July 24, from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

- Sunday, July 19, through Friday, July 24, from 7 p.m. to 2 p.m. (the following afternoon), a left lane will close on westbound U.S. 422 between Township Line Road and Evergreen Road;
- Friday, July 24, from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, July 25, a left lane will be closed on westbound U.S. 422 between Township Line Road and Evergreen Road.
As always, motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under this two-year improvement project, PennDOT contractor, H & K Group, Inc., of Skippak, will mill, overlay and rehabilitate existing U.S. 422 pavement. Workers will repair a bridge deck, do concrete and joint patching, improve sealing and drainage structures, install new guide rail and rumble strips, and repair or replace damaged traffic signs along the corridor.

The $19.1 million project which is financed completely with federal funds, said PennDOT. The entire project is expected to be completed in summer 2021.
Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan. This plan includes protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the job site, special signage and relevant training.
