Lawsuit Filed Against Montco-Based Hockey Supply Company: AG
Customers paid hundreds for gear which they never received, the Attorney General said, and did not refund their money.
POTTSTOWN, PA — A lawsuit has been filed against a Pottstown-based hockey equipment company by the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office after customers paid hundreds for equipment they never received.
The company, E. High Street-based Monster Hockey, also never refunded money back to customers, the Attorney General said. The company is more than a year and a half behind on filling orders.
Despite this, the company and its CEO, Jeffrey Laum, has continued to sell products without filling the orders. When customers have reached out to inquire on the status of their orders, they were ignored or "given excuse after excuse," authorities said.

“I was a repeat customer because my previous purchase was handled in a timely fashion and the communication was good," Russell Handy, a customer who paid for $130 worth of hockey gear from Monster Hockey but never received the merchandise, told the Attorney General's office. "I’m hoping this lawsuit means no one else is going to get scammed, and I’m hoping to get my money back."
The company also went as far as to delete complaints posted by customers on their Facebook page.

The lawsuit aims to get full refunds for customers, prevent Monster Hockey from doing business in Pennsylvania, and pay civil penalties ranging of $1,000 for each violation of the Consumer Protection Law. Those penalties would be increased to $3,000 per violation involving customers over the age of 60.
If you were victimized by Monster Hockey, contact the Bureau of Consumer Protection at 800-441-2555 or scams@attorneygeneral.gov, or file a complaint here.
