Lewis Road Accident Investigation Continuing
Several parts of the investigation are still pending. No charges have been announced.

Limerick Township police and county authorities continue to investigate last week's fatal crash on Lewis Road that killed a jogger near the Chesterbrook Academy day care center.Â
Royersford resident Merinda Thompson died when she was struck from behind as she jogged along Lewis Road. The driver, an 18-year-old male, was treated for minor injuries.Â
Limerick Township Police Chief William Albany said in an email Thursday that authorities "are still waiting on the lab results for [the driver's] blood and the phone activity report from the cell phone provider."

The cell-phone service provider has a legal process to follow before they will release records, Albany said, and blood tests are sent to a lab for processing.Â
Those results, the cell phone records and the rest of the findings from the investigation will determine whether charges are filed against the driver.Â

"The time being expended in this case is not unusual," Albany said.
