
LIMERICK TOWNSHIP, PA - The Limerick Fire Company and Linfield Fire Company are pleased to announce they are working toward a merger of the two entities into a single organization which will be known as the Limerick Fire Department, Station 51. The current timeline has the consolidation completed by January 1, 2019.
The consolidation will combine two fire companies who have over two hundred years of history protecting Limerick Township between them. Both groups have begun to merge their day to day operations by training together on a regular basis and responding to all emergencies in Limerick Township since October of 2017.
Limerick Fire Company recently took delivery of a new 2018 95’ E-One Mid-Mount Tower. In preparation for the consolidation the new truck was lettered with the new “Limerick Fire Department” name and apparatus designation of “Tower 51”.

As with any merger of two organizations with so much history, there is lot of behind the scenes work which has been in the process for months. Several committees have been meeting to ensure that the combination of all the financial, training and service records as well as working to plan the operating guidelines of the new organization.
Both companies have joined together on fundraising efforts and will be joining forces to send a unified solicitation to township residents later this year.
