Orchard Court Fire Was Accidental, Fire Marshal Says

The Friday evening fire in the Orchard Court complex in Upper Providence Township was caused by an electrical issue in a ceiling fan, according to fire marshal Joshua Overholt.

Overholt told Patch that a second-floor bathroom ceiling fan overloaded and sparked the fire, which spread into the attic.

Damage was confined to the attic and the roof. Overholt said that extensive repairs to the attic and roof structure will be needed.
