PA Dept. of Education's Amy Morton Visits Spring City Hybrid Learning School

Spring-Ford Area School District announced via a press release that Amy Morton, the deputy executive secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Education, recently visited the Spring City Elementary Hybrid Learning School to see the hybrid learning model in operation.

The school is the only hybrid learning school east of the Mississippi and the only elementary-level school to fully transition to the hybrid model. 

Morton visited six classrooms, according to the release, and saw firsthand the "rotate-in-class" model that each classroom now uses. She spoke to students and teachers about the hybrid learning model. 

“It is truly impressive to see the inventive learning taking place here at Spring City,” Morton said, according to the release. 

After her tour of the school, Morton met with district administrators, school board members and Spring City principal Mitch Edmunds, and discussed the future of education in Pennsylvania and how Spring-Ford is working to better student achievement. 

“We appreciate that Mrs. Morton visited the school to learn more about hybrid learning and how students at Spring City are benefiting from a technology-infused curriculum,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Goodin said, according to the release.
