Lady Rams to be Honored on 'Welcome to Royersford' Signs
The borough council showed off the new signs at Tuesday's meeting.

Royersford Borough plans to erect two signs labeling Royersford as the home of the Lady Rams, the 2013 PIAA AAAA Basketball State Champions.Â
Spring-Ford athletic director Mickey McDaniel and seniors Sarah Payonk, Sammi Haas and Kirsten Landis were on hand to accept a plaque from borough council and to see the new signs.Â
Mayor John Guest presented Payonk, Haas and Landis with a plaque commemorating their season.Â

McDaniel said many of the team members were either at SAT preparation class or at practice for other sports and weren't able to attend.
The blue, white and gold signs will be placed at the two main entry points into Royersford Borough - on Main Street nar the bridge going over the river and at 10th Avenue and Main Street near the borough boundary.Â

McDaniel said that this was the last honor in a whirlwind of events that have honored the team, and that he, the girls and the coaching staff were grateful for each one.Â
"We sincerely want to thank you for the honor," McDaniel said.
There were several comments about adding more years to the signs.Â
"We left space," said council president Thomas Weikel.
"We have a great group of young ladies staying next year, and these five seniors have done a great job building the foundation of this team," McDaniel told the council and the audience.
