Royersford Man Steals Amazon Van, Quickly Captured: Cops

Officials were able to track the stolen delivery van using its GPS signal, police said.

ROYERSFORD, PA — A man stole an Amazon truck in West Chester and was swiftly arrested earlier in May, authorities said.

The incident occurred on May 8 at around 1:03 p.m. on the 200 block of E. Gay Street.

Vernon Robert McGoldrick hopped in the van and drove it into Caln Township, according to authorities.

Officials were able to track the van using its GPS signal, and the vehicle was pulled over by police on the 3500 block of Lincoln Highway that afternoon.

McGoldrick, 60, a resident of Royersford, was taken into custody without incident.

He faces charges including theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of automobiles, and related counts.

McGoldrick was booked at Chester County Prison. A preliminary hearing is forthcoming.
