Spring City Home on HGTV This Weekend

Cathy Calhoun's bank-turned-residence will be featured on a new HGTV show.

After several months of waiting, an unusual home on Main Street in Spring City is going to be featured Sunday night on a new HGTV show called "You Live in What?". 

Cathy Calhoun, owner of Calhoun Jewelers in Royersford and GOLD Dine & Shine restaurant in Spring City, had an HGTV film crew in her home in late September. The show was interested in how Calhoun had remodeled the former bank into a showpiece home. 

Calhoun explained to the HGTV crew that she had bought the bank when it closed in 1989. Her former boss thought the bank might make a good jewelry store location, but Calhoun saw its potential as a home. Still, she kept many of the bank's unusual features, such as the massive vault door and the old telephone closet door.

The episode featuring Calhoun's home, along with several others, will premiere on HGTV Sunday, March 10, at 8:00pm.
