Spring-Ford Fifth-Grader Places 2nd in Art Contest
Pennsylvania American Water held their 11th annual "Protect Our Watersheds" art contest.
For the sixth year in a row, a Spring-Ford student has taken one of the top prizes in Pennsylvania American Water's annual "Protect Our Watersheds" art contest.
Fifth-grader Aamnah Amanullah placed second in the 11th annual contest. Amanullah's project is titled "Lend a Hand - Protect Our Watersheds" and depicts a clean stream and wildlife. 525 fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders across the state participated in the contest; the winner was from Lackawanna County and the third-place students was from Pittston.
Amanullah recived a Barnes & Noble gift card as a prize.Â

"We are excited that so many students participated and used their creativity to expess the need to protect our watersheds," said Pennsylvania American Water president Kathy L. Pape in a press release.Â
