Strawberry Festival Coming to St. James Lutheran Church
The Limerick-based church will hold its ninth-annual Strawberry Festival Fundraising event, June 1.
Saint James Lutheran Church, located at 93 Kugler Road in Limerick, has found a sweet way to help pay for its Mission and Service trips with its ninth-annual Strawberry Festival.
According to Ruth Hanson, St. James Lutheran Church’s Outreach coordinator, the Strawberry Festival is the church’s single biggest fundraiser for its summer servants trips. Proceeds from this year’s festival will help fund two such trips, in which youth will be travelling to South Dakota to work with Native American Families living in reservations; as well as an adult and family trip to Atlantic City to help with clean up efforts from Hurricane Sandy.
The Strawberry Festival, which will take place June 1, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., rain or shine, will also feature a flea market, which opens at 8 a.m.

The event will include attractions for both youth and adults from a moon bounce to chair massages, and food, including strawberry shortcake.
St. James Lutheran is also looking for volunteers for the night prior to the event. According to a link on the church’s website, at least 10 volunteers are requested for set-up, May 31 from 6 – 9 p.m. At the time of this article’s publication, four of the 10 slots have been reported filled, according to the website.
