Dear Neighbors,
My grand-daughter has had Lyme disease, which begins as a bacterial infection that is transmitted through ticks. It can only be cured in its early stages and can cause a range of symptoms, like headaches and neck stiffness, rashes, palsy, arthritis, and much more.
Given that 300,000 Americans currently suffer from Lyme disease, I hope to see future developments in the treatment and cure for Lyme disease. However, many American researchers are currently focused on combating the COVID-19 crisis, which is extremely important as Lyme disease patients face increased threats in the wake of this virus as well.

Unfortunately, the White House announced a new health care policy, called most favored nation, which would set the price of medications here based on what we see in other foreign countries. Government price setting is not the answer and in the middle of a pandemic, I would think our policies would go towards helping that effort, not harming it.
I hope our leaders re-think their policies and see that we need a vaccine. Science will get us our lives back. The most vulnerable Americans like my grand-daughter deserve to feel safe going to the grocery store again.
