The meeting will be held at the Limerick Township Municipal Building.

Limerick Township tax collector Ryan Wall has planned an informational meeting at 7 p.m. on May 15 to help area residents find out if they're eligible for a property tax or rent rebate from the state, and to help them apply if they are.

Porperty tax and rent rebates are lottery-funded and managed through a state program to help lower-income people lower their tax burdens.

Eligibility is based on a number of things. The program benefits Pennsylvanians 65 and older, widows/widowers age 50 and older, and adults with disabilities.

Family members of residents who may be eligible are also encouraged to attend in case they choose to help an older family member apply for the rebate.

Wall replaced now-Representative Mark Painter as tax collector in January when the latter was sworn in after winning the 146th District House seat in 2012. Wall has served on the township's planning commissionsince 2011 and is the treasurer for the Industrial Development Authority.
