Two Shred Events Help Get Rid of Your Old Papers
May 4 brings two events where you can bring your old documents to be safely shredded and discarded.

Shredding old papers and documents is a great way to get rid of those old files, and to protect yourself from identity theft.Â
Two local companies are offering shredding events on Saturday (May 4): Penn Liberty Bank's Limerick branch, 543 North Lewis Road, Limerick, Â from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Limerick Garden of Memories from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Penn Liberty Bank will accept 3 boxes of documents per person. Paper, rubber bands and staples can all be shredded; binders, binder clips, spiral notebooks and plastic bags cannot.Â

A 2008 Today Show story gave examples of identity theft done in this manner - people rummaging through recycle bins and stealing personal papers that had been thrown away, like bank statements, credit card statements, and bills for services such as internet, water and electricity.Â
If you have stored those old files, bring them to one of these events and get rid of them once and for all!Â
