U.S. 422 Lane Closures Coming in Limerick Twp. For Road Repair
Travel on Troutman Road will also be restricted next week under U.S. 422 in Upper Pottsgrove Township.
LIMERICK TOWNSHIP, PA — U.S 422 improvements continue, with accompanying lane closures. Construction will reduce westbound U.S. 422 travel to a single lane next week for patching and pavement repair. A 5-mile section in Limerick and Lower Pottsgrove townships will be affected next week.
Lanes will close between the Royersford/Trappe and Sanatoga interchanges in Limerick and Lower Pottsgrove townships, Montgomery County, PennDOT announced.
The road project is rehabilitating pavement and repairing seven structures along the stretch of U.S. 422.

The work schedule is:
- Sunday, July 26, through Friday, July 31, from 7 p.m. to 2 p.m. the following afternoon.
A left lane closure will be in place on westbound U.S. 422 between Township Line Road and Evergreen Road; and - Friday, July 31, from 7 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, a left lane closure will be in place on westbound U.S. 422 between Township Line Road and Evergreen Road.

- Troutman Road under U.S. 422 between Ashenfelter Road and Arcola Road in Upper Pottsgrove Township will be reduced to a single lane with flagging on Monday, July 27, through Friday, July 31, from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. for bridge reconstruction.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Under this 2-year improvement project, PennDOT's contractor will mill, overlay and rehabilitate existing U.S. 422 pavement; perform bridge deck repairs, concrete and joint patching, sealing and drainage improvements; install new guide rail and rumble strips; and repair or replace damaged traffic signs along the corridor.
H & K Group Inc. of Skippack, Montgomery County is the general contractor on the $19.1 million project which is financed completely with federal funds. The entire project is expected to be finished in summer 2021. For information, visit www.422improvements.com.
Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan. The plan has protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the job site, special signage and relevant training.
