Half of Macungie's 'Bonnie & Clyde' Gets Prison Sentence

A Macungie woman convicted of stealing two police cars in Philadelphia and Camden, N.J., will spend several years in state prison.

Shayna Sykes, the 23-year-old Macungie woman accused of going on a drug-fueled joy ride in a stolen police car, has been sentenced to three to eight years in state prison, according to an NBC report.

Sykes' boyfriend, Blake Bills, 25, has a court hearing Thursday.

The police chief of Camden, N.J., called the pair a "junkie version" of Bonnie and Clyde after they allegedly stole an unoccupied police car there in March and hit a police officer, breaking his leg.

They sped across the Ben Franklin Bridge into Philadelphia, where police pulled them over. Sykes then jumped out of the cruiser and stole a second police car while Bills was being questioned, police said.

Sykes has a 14-month-old daughter named Zooey and pleaded in court this week for a non-prison sentence so she could be with the little girl, according to Philly.com.

Prosecutors said the child is better off away from Sykes, who has three previous DUI convictions.
