Kushka Returns While Visions of Sugar Cake Dance in Their Heads: This Weekend
Here's your look at what's happening the East Penn area and beyond this weekend.

There are tons of ways to keep busy in and around the Lehigh Valley this weekend, and we're here to help you decide which happenings are for you.

Friday
- Starters Pub Family Night, 5 to 11 p.m., kids 12 and under eat free (with purchase of an adult entree), 3731 Rt. 378, Bethlehem
- Join author Eli Kowalski for a signing of his latest children's book, "Kushka Travels the World," at Barnes & Noble, 5:30 p.m., The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley, 2960 Center Valley Parkway, Center Valley. A special guest appearance will be made by the real-life Kushka.
- Come out and sing with Brian and Vicki for Karaoke at Emmaus VFW, 6 p.m.
- The State Theatre hosts two shows this weekend: Chip Davis' Manheim Steamroller Christmas Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Broadway Rox Sunday at 3 p.m.
- Enjoy some live music at the Vera Cruz Tavern, 3883 Main Rd West, Emmaus. Modern Romantz takes the stage at 10 p.m. These acoustic performers draw on a broad mix of current Top 40 and hits of decades past.
Saturday
- Get yourself a little sugar at the Emmaus Moravian Church, 148 Main St., Emmaus, 9 a.m., through the church's Authentic Moravian Sugar Cake Sale.
- Celebrate the season this weekend with wine and chocolates at Clover Hills Vineyards and Winery, 9850 Newtown Road, Breinigsville. The winery is marking the first release of its 2013 grape harvest. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday; an noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
- Collect your supplies from nature and learn to make a natural wreath for the holidays. Join the Wildlands Conservancy in Lower Macungie and guests from the 183 House from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. Cost is $5.
