Macungie Checkpoint Snares 3 for DUI
A recent Friday night checkpoint in Macungie resulted in six arrests and six traffic citations, according to the Macungie Police Department.

A recent DUI checkpoint in Macungie resulted in 12 field sobriety tests, six arrests and six traffic citations, according to Macungie Police.
A total of 231 cars passed through the checkpoint set up on Route 100 between West End Trail and Brookfield Drive between 11 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 6 and 3 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7.
Of the six arrests, three were DUI arrests, with one for being under the influence of marijuana and possessing drug paraphernalia. Of the non-DUI arrests, one was for possession with intent to deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In addition to Macungie Police, the departments that participated in the checkpoint, Macungie Police say, included South Whitehall, Whitehall, Emmaus, and Upper Macungie police as well as the Lehigh County District Attorney’s office.
